According to the so called Shanghai-Ranking 2012, which is the academic ranking of world Universities, the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is amongst the top three German Universities in the field of engineering, technology and computer sciences. Considering the publication record alone, FAU is ranked first.
