Winter Academy 2021
The Winter Academy 2021 took place online again due to the ongoing Covid 19 crisis. From 15 -18 February, the participants from SAOT and MAOT dealt intensively with the topic “Modern Biophotonics”. An introductory virtual team building session was followed by a lecture on “Cell Biology for Engineers” by Prof. Barbara Kappes and a lecture on “Optical Imaging & Spectroscopy in Biomedical Science“ by Dr. Lucas Kreiß. The second and third day of the Academy involved the participation in the 33rd International SAOT Workshop which offered a series of lectures on “Advanced Biophotonics” and “Superresolution & Software in Microscopy” by national and international speakers. On the last day of the Academy, the participants had the chance to take part in an interactive session on “Image Processing in Fiji” held by Dr. Sebastian Schürmann.
